Part Two of our Affordable Housing Advocacy conversation is planned for Sunday, March 24 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Journey of Faith Church. The address is 1900 Manchester Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 near the Washtenaw and Sheridan bus stop on AATA Route 4.
Over 70 individuals representing a variety of organizations and communities attended our first meeting in December to discuss affordable housing needs and advocacy in Washtenaw County. At this upcoming meeting, we'll discuss what sort of convening space we would like to create in order to better communicate and coordinate our efforts, with the goal of gradually creating structures that will support our objectives.
In planning meetings, it seems that "coalition" might not be the right word for what we are hoping to accomplish. So deciding on what to call ourselves will be part of the conversation of the larger group. We hope this meeting will be an opportunity to learn more about our respective priorities and experiences related to affordable housing, and to begin identifying ways to structure ourselves to pursue the initiatives we choose.
All are welcome to attend, and please feel free to reply to this email or contact Mike Auerbach at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about the event.
Child watch services will be provided, but please email us at email@example.com if you plan to bring a child so we can prepare some fun activities.
