Join us at Journey of Faith for a six week sermon series on the Book of Revelation: It’s The End of the World As We Know It. The first part of the series begins on Sunday, February 3, 2019 and ends on Sunday, March 3, 2019.
The Revelation. The title of this book suggests that something- something important- will suddenly be made very clear. And yet it remains arguably the most confusing and mysterious of all the Biblical texts.
A sword-tongued Jesus. A jeweled throne in Heaven. Seals and horsemen. A dragon. A Beast (or two!). A lake of fire. For millennia, Christians have puzzled over the meaning of these images. Was it all a drug induced dream? A coded message? A true-to-life prediction of the future as interpreted by a man who didn’t understand 20th or 21st century technology?
The text might actually be able to shed light on the nature of God, our current call as God’s people, and how the troubles of our times might resolve in the light of God. A revelation (or two or three), indeed, might be hidden inside.
