Jesus prayed all the time.
He prayed just about every chance He got. Jesus knew that he could “get down and get honest” before God in the midst of his own difficulties. He knew something we didn't know – seldom do we get closer to God than in prayer.
Prayer is one place where God can get at us (and we think prayer is for getting at God!) and speak to and minister to us. Jesus needed to pray; it was the major way he accomplished God’s work in the world.
Prayer itself is inherently valuable to God. Whether we ever see any answers and whether we ever derive any personal benefit, maybe, prayer is one of those things that can stand alone with an incomprehensible value.
Maybe, prayer should be more of a central point in our lives than it usually is – Jesus must have strongly believed in the power of prayer.
