food DONATIONS

We have many guests in our building who arrive hungry. They are only eating one meal a day, if that. We make an effort to feed them while they are at the church, but we’d also like to be able to offer them food to take with them when they leave.

Many of these folks do not have stoves or can openers or even electricity, so we are asking for donated food items that are easily opened and consumed. It is especially helpful to consider protein and nutrition with your donations.

Folks who are only eating once a day can feel a little fuller and get as much nutrition as possible in a protein-rich meal.

Suggestions:

Protein.  Cans of beans, tuna, and other meats, single serving pudding, single serving milk, small cans of milk, peanut butter, protein bars, single serving packs of nuts.

Fruits/veggies:  Single serving cups of fruit in their own juices, small cans of 100% fruit juice, small cans of tomato juice (like V8).

Grains:  Whole grain crackers, cereals, etc that come in air tight resealable bags or single serving packs.

We are also looking for a few hand held can opener donations to keep on hand.

Thank you for all your gifts!
