27 A great number of the people followed [Jesus], and among them were women who were beating their breasts and wailing for him.
Grief is part of the fabric of human life. Neither Jesus, nor those who loved him, were immune. The story of Jesus’ death and loss experienced by his family and friends may bring to mind for us other losses. For whom or what does your heart weep?
The gospel tells of passionate expressions of grief, of beating of breasts and wailing. You are invited to share your own grief through the art of watercolor. If you don’t have watercolor, marker or crayon or even just pen, is fine.
Put into a picture: what does your pain feel like, sound like, look like? As you paint or when you are finished, say a brief prayer, sharing your grief with God.
